I am a long time Psion user and my current one is in the last stages of its
life. I need to move to another platform and have had experience with the
HP Jornada 720 and Active Synch. I seem to have endless problems with that
set up and Outlook. It begins to synch then just sits there after getting
through most of the updates until I disconnect the HP from the link. I also
do not like the fact that I cannot cross out items on the calander and have
them remain that way. I guess I find the Psion system the most user
oriented in terms of how I work.
I am considering moving to one of the PDA running Palm OS. I am interested
in any thoughts or suggestions experienced users have had with the Palm OS
(and for that matter with the Win CE systems) and its use with excel
sheets, Word, and PowerPoint, off line email and other applications. I am
also interested in any thoughts and suggestions you could offer concerning
battery life and over all performance Vs the Win CE systems.
BTW, if any one is aware of a Palm or Win CE package that enables using the
DeMarco structured analysis, please let me know becasu ethat could be a
major factor for me. I have been using such a program for several years on
the Psion, - free ware and it is a real gem.
I would like one of the newer PDA (Palm or Win CE) systems that have 802.11b
so that I can synch with my desk system (Win XP) without wiring it up.

It depends if speed and cost and battery life are an issue. If so, a good
deal is the m125. The Zire 72 is more expensive but much faster (important
for me to play chess), but the rechargeable battery lasts only a few hours
under continuous use, whereas the m125 has replaceable batteries that last
for days (I used to change them about every six weeks). But the Zire has
color and a camera, and a LOT more memory.
Both models have infrared wireless synchronization (assuming your computer
has an IR port). The Zire has bluetooth, and apparently there is a WIFI
card coming.
I have not owned any Tungsten models, and some models have telephones.
