Strange graphical error

My graphics card gave some trouble so I had to send it back to get checked. I put my older geforce 6800gs agp card back in (my mboard has both pci-e and agp). Had a bit of trouble before I found a bios setting that had to be enabled. Successfully installed the drivers at last. Problem came when trying to run world of warcraft, or any game. I'd just get a black screen. I could hear the music going, but the screen was black. I've tried using various drivers to no avail.

what kind of card did you send back?

Did you uninstall the other card's drivers and then use a program like Driver Cleaner to clean up anything leftover?
