hi all iv got 500gb 2 back up what would be best Internal or External hard drives .thanks for your time

Use an external to back up. when you are not actually backing up the computer unplug the drive and put it away.

plenty of choices there - you can even get a 1tb (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142563) for £66.

As 505090 says use external for backup, if you can store it in a different place, say at work or friends, then do so - it's no good if it and the original get lost in a fire or burgled.
