I have a novatech laptop which i have had about one year. Recently when i turn it on , the clock has gained several years. It doesn\'t hapen all the time, the most recent time it read 12th 0ct 2015. I know how to reset it to the correct time, but can anyone tell me why this happens?

There are two possible causes for this.
1. The system time will reset if your laptop runs out of battery completely. To stop this always make sure it at least has some battery remaing, it will need power even when its not on to power the internal motherboard clock.

2. You have a virius. A simple virus scan should find it.

Based on the fact that you have a laptop i would say its the first cause but run a virus scan just to be sure.
