Any Ideas for Short (<8" Long) PCI-E Cards?

So, gave up on doing a custom PC after getting two dead motherboards in a row and going through weeks of hassle and bought a pre-fabbed machine. However, much to my chagrin, the SATA ports are right behind the PCI-E port (what drives board manufacturers to do this?). As a result, the 8800-series graphics card I had purchased along with the machine was not of any immediate use, as it was ~9" long, and covered up the ports.

Anyone out there have any ideas for either a decent (8600-8800 price/quality range) card which is 8 or fewer inches in length, or a dependable/stable SATA card? The SATA cards I've read up on all seem to be on the unstable side.

Any product suggestions would be appreciated!

well dude i dont suppose you got two pci-x 16 do you?? cause i would tell you to get two 8600gts but i would either get the 8600 gt or the gts. i have the XFX 8600gtxxx and it allright. i can play bioshock maxed with a 22in screen i can play crysis low-medm settings so lifes not too bad.

Can you get by with a 90 degree angled sata cable to the mobo? Might give enough room. can you move the sata cable over to a different slot to enabled connection without barring card install?
