I am building a computer for a friend and she will most likely only use the computer for basic office stuff like word and email. What chipset should use? Something thats not pricy but still decent.

What's your price range?

The P35 chipset is very good and you can get a Gigabyte P35 board for around $90. If she is just doing office stuff you might want to look at the G35 which has integrated video so you won't have to buy a seperate video card.

For something like this I think its just less of a headache to buy a premade Dell or HP etc instead of building your own.

They both have some really good deals if you aren't into high powered computing.

I agree that dell would be better road for that kind of use.
