i have

cpu 3.4 ghz
2gig of ram
1280x1024 monitor
8800gtx
windows media center edition 2002

i am having framerate problems with my 8800 gtx. i get around 50 fps in counter strike source until i get into a big firefight and it drops down to below 20 fps! i have all the ingame graphics settings on low and set the card to high performance in nvidia control panel and i have the latest drivers for my 8800gtx. surely i should be getting more from my card as i got around the same fps with my 8600gt!!!

need more info. Is that DDR or DDR2 RAM? You have a single 3.4ghz CPU or do you have 2 dual core CPUs overclocked to 3.4 ghz. is it AMD or is it Intel? What brand is your power supply and what sort of amperage does it supply on the 12v? Do you have your GTX overclocked, and what kind of motherboard do you have? How old is the system as a whole?
