Can not sync to sd card

i can not transfer any files to sd card it says disc is write protected i even slid the write protection switch to several locations still does not work

When you plug in the cable with the phone does anything come up on the laptop saying anything? Are you using any security software that you don't have with the xp computer? have you tried while plugged into the laptop turning your phone off than on again. Also are you using any apps like task killer?
