not sure about PSU manufacturer but its 550watt
i am having framerate problems with my 8800 gtx. i get around 50 fps in counter strike source until i get into a big firefight and it drops down to below 20 fps! i have all the ingame graphics settings on low and set the card to high performance in nvidia control panel and i have the latest drivers for my 8800gtx. surely i should be getting more from my card as i got around the same fps with my 8600gt!!! can someone please tell me what i need to increase my cards performance ?
My first guess is your 550 watt power supply. while it my be 550 watt i doubt it has the amps to drive the 8800gtx properly. Get a new PSU if possible with at least 32amps on the 12v rail.
I had the same thing happen to me with my old HP when i upraded to a 7900gs last year. Just unplug any drive or card that you don’t use or need and it mite help out.. A good PSU is always a great investment
and will pay for it self in operating cost over time.

i opened up my pc today and looked at the power supply, and on the +12VDC it says max output 36A then next to that the -12VDC has 0.8A max output. if im not wrong that should be good enough then if i need 32amps on the 12V rail?
