Does anyone have any advice or comment on:
- buying from Best Buy or FutureShop;
- whether an extended warranty or service plan is a good idea?
Thanks for any comments or feedback

Best advise is to wait for the next generation models that are about to hit
the street. Also look at the low priced Dell product. It is excellent for
the price.

Be careful that what you are buying is an HDTV. They tend to label them
as HDTV even when they are not.
Make sure they are either HDTV ready or fully HDTV (meaning they have an
ATSC tuner, NTSC is not sufficient). You do not need the ATSC tuner if
you are using cable or satellite. HDTV compatible is not OK.
Another place to consider if you are in Toronto or thinking of getting
slightly off-brand stuff is tigerdirect.ca but watch for their shipping
costs.
