I recently had to replace my old laotop with a newer model. While it has the ability to access Linksys, I discovered that I need a network key. How do I acquire it?

I assume by access Linksys you mean it can detect the wireless signal from a Linksys router. I would recommend reading the Linksys manual for your router (or downloading it from their site) and temporarily hook the new computer to the router with an ethernet cable.

The manual will tell you how to access the router's setup pages via your browser where you can change to a new passphrase which you can apply to your new computer's wireless networking interface.
