I have a HP Thin client that i'm trying to convert to an Access Point... it has a PCI slot, and 4xUSB1.1.... USB 1.1 is 11Mbit/s, which is like the wireless-b standard..
thus, the only way to get wireless N speeds is to use a PCI card, or get a PCI->USB2.0 or PCI->PCMCIA card and use a PCMCIA/USB wireless n dongle
because i'm going to use it as an Access Point, it has to support AP/Master mode.... PCI cards seems to be the easiest to use/antenna-upgrade compared to USB
