Have been getting hit with intermittent BSOD and have determined it is probably my PSU, a NZXT PF-500, which I have been told is junk. I'd like to replace it myself, but am not real experienced. I would greatly appreciate wattage and brand recommendations for my situation:

-AUSUS P5N-E SLI (NFORCE 650I SLI)
-CORE2DUO E6420 2.13 GHZ
-EVGA 8600GT 256MB *would like potential to go SLI in the distant future*
-2GB RAM
-2X250GB 7200RPM HDD
-2 OPTICAL DRIVES
-ONBOARD SOUND
-TV TUNER CARD
-802.11G WIRELESS PCI
-12in1 CARD READER
-FAN CONTROLLER
-ALSO RUNNING 2 FANS (1 is associated with liquid Cooler Master) AND 1 CATHODE

I'm not so much a "power user" or a "huge gamer." Is PSU fit an issue?

Forgive my inexperienced questioning, but even if I throw in another GeForce 8600 GT and another gig of RAM down the road, 430W will still be sufficient for my setup?

The wattage is not what is most important.
What you need to look at is the +12V amperage and the quality of the PSU. The Antec EW 430 has a total of 30A combine on it's +12V circuit (2 17A rials are derived from this system) which puts it in the range of many 550W or higher PSU's.

Also, DO NOT SLI your 8600GT for better performance. Get a 8800GT/GTS 512/9800GTX or 4850. Any of these single cards will massively outperform a 8600GT SLI setup.
