Well were do i start aha,
couple of weeks ago my xfx 680i motherboard stopped working, i couldn't be bothered to do all that warranty rubbish so i chucked it in the bin and got an abit fatality FP-IN9 sli motherboard put my 9600gt (that i have only had for like 3 months) in the motherboard, everything was all cool for like a 2 days then i installed some games and they didnt run and distorted my screen the screen was had pixelated dots all over and the it err it was like this for a 3 weeks then i installed some windows updates and did a virus scan deleted some trojans and suddenly i was able to watch movies without the screen flickering or getting pixelated and i could also run one game "Turok 2008" it runs real smooth but i cant run any other game and if ii try to run any other game system freezes have to end the proccess and the my screen gets really pixelated again. i have a screenshot of what happens if it will help anyone come to a conclusion.
thanks for any help i get and for taking the time to help me fix my problem
You deleted trojans and now its good, but not good? Id recheck to see if you still dont have malware in your system

i cant help you, but this is one of the reasons i dont get sli boards.
I can't help him either due to him not making much sense. Obviously there's something embedded somewhere that should not be. It's not hardware related, unless he's describing video ram failure, which doesn't seem to be the case, more like codec failure.
But what is that reason you don't get SLI boards? I find SLI boards without SLI are not only no more expensive but have more room around key areas and generally better tempered for thermal management. Including the bonus that large single slot card cooling solutions don't impact your other add-in cards and you can usually use the largest CPU HSF towers as well.

It's a true computer irony.
