I have an Asus Striker (Non Extreme, if it matters) I would like to upgrade to a new Quad and 8Gb of Ram.

I presently have an E6850 and 4*1gb Corsairs, I was just wondering if anyone had the 45mm Quads working on this board or if I'm going to have to use a 6700? Also any RAM that will defo work as the QVL doesn't list any 2Gb sticks that work!

Thanks in advance, hopefully someone will have the answers!

Present Spec:

Asus Striker E6850
2*8800 Gtx
4Gb Corsair XMS Quad Matched
150Gb Raptor
320Gb WD
XP XP2
Pioneer DVD/RW
Antec P182
Silverstone 850W Modular

Exactly as I expected. 680i can't do Yorkfields. Only up to Wolfdales. Your best bet is Q6600. Q6700 is pretty pointless cuz the x10 multiplier won't be useful on air. Or even water. LN2/DICE, yes, x10+.

Sorry, that link is for Extreme. This is for vanilla. Still no Yorkie support:

As for ram support, look it up in the manual.

Manual is useless for RAM support to be honest, has no 2gb sticks.......

online QVL is worse!
