Putting together a new rig and can't get a video signal out the video card at all.

I've already tried pulling everything out of the case and only putting back the MB, processor, cpu fan, 1 case fan, video card & still the computer will not post.
Video card shows green around both power connectors, led on rear of card above DVI interface is lit up green. Plugged the Monitor cable DVI connector into the lower port on the card. Tried 3 diff PCI Express positions, no difference. Even reset MB multiple times and no diff. I don't have an internal speaker in the case so I don't think that I can hear any potential problem codes.

Here's the specs for what I am using:

AMD Phenom 9850
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 PS
2x2Gb Corsair Twin2x4096-8500C5 (only 2 sticks in right now of the 8Gb I purchased)
EVGA 9800GX2 vid card
Equip not installed thus far:
WD Raptor 2x150Gb (planned Raid 0)
WD 400 Gb backup drive

Any further suggestions?
MB standoffs were checked, PS connectors were all swapped, swapped ram in each slot, video card reseated probably 100 times and in 3 diff PCI-X slots.

I didn't look up your motherboard yet, but does it have POST code display?

Do you have another PC to test your other hardware like the video card in?

ed:

also, when you reset your motherboard what is the exact method/steps you used - some motherboards are very touchy about how you reset the cmos (i'm assuming this is what you mean by resetting the motherboard)

M3A32-MVP definitely supports your processor just did a check, I haven't found any links to significant 790FX issues with your vid card yet in google..

ed: have heard about some issues with timings/voltages on SB600 chipset, could that be an issue?

thanks for the replies ovaltine...

Unfortunately I don't have another system to check the vid card in, my old Athlon XP rig won't support much of anything from the new system.
MB doesn't have a POST code display and haven't gotten to the point of hearing bitchin Betty with this Asus MB since I can't successfully post.
I have found numerous posts around the web of DOA EVGA 9800GX2 though, thinking that I am looking at an RMA on the vid card but wanted to check for other suggestions first.

now that you mention it I have heard tell of that happening the odd time too.

I guess 9800 GX2 is pretty delicate

Probably a DOA video card by the looks of it. Did you plug in the power for the video card?
