I have two Samsung Spinpoint drives: the HD103UJ (500Gb) and the HD501LJ (1TB).

I am trying to run the latest version of Samsung's diagnostic tool, HUTIL, but am having no success. I get as far as 'Tools>Self Diagnostic>Test Loop Count Number', then when I hit enter I am returned to the utility's main menu. No diagnosis ever begins. I've tried entering different values in the Test Loop Count Number box, but it makes no difference.

Has anybody else encountered this?

Sorry, not sure which utility you're recommending. The link opens a page listing a vast number of programs.
