Well I used to have a 6600 or something then I got a 8600gt a couple months ago but really didn't notice much of any difference graphics/fps wise. A friend told me the 8600gt is just a pos, he suggested the 8800gts 515mb. Is this a good card compared to my current 8600gt? Would I notice a big difference?
An 8800GTS 512mb card would be a huge improvement over the 8600. You are correct as well, there isn't much of a noticable difference (performance-wise) between the 8600 and a higher end 6600. This is why it's always good to do research on hardware before you buy it.
