Full Screen on HDMI

Hello, i have a laptop with an HDMI cable running to my computer, it all used to work fine but now when I extend the display on to the TV, and click on full screen, which is pretty much what I use it for, clicking anything on the other display will take it out of full screen mode yet carry on playing fine, this never used to happen? Is there an easy way round this?

Have a Windows restore point to use when it was working ?
