Asf files in movie maker

Hello,
When trying to load an asf file into windows movie maker I get error the file is not indexed...how do I correct this. I do have the latest version.

what camera are you using to take the movies, well try this first: index it using WMP 9 then see if it imports in movie maker, hopes this helps
