I have a Sony KV-36XBR450 set. It just came back from the shop where the
deflection coil and deflection board were replaced. Now, when I turn it on,
the sound comes on and the red LED in the front panel blinks seven times
then stops and repeats. I feel pretty sure it's some kind of
troubleshooting code but I have no idea what it could be. If I turn the set
off and then back on, it works.
Does anyone here have more experience than I?
Thanks for any help.

It is a diagnostic code. Seven blinks indicates a horizontal output
failure, generally. The fact that it clears after restarting the set is
unusual but regardless the set is not operating properly and you should
contact the shop again. What deflection coil are you referring to, the
yoke? Why were the yoke and board replaced?

Thanks for your reply, Leonard,
My original problem that prompted me to call Ultimate (where I bought it)
was a convergence problem. But before they could come out to the house, the
set died. It would turn on briefly and then turn off. They came out to fix
it and said it had to go into the shop. Which it did.
When it came back, the work order said that they replaced the def yoke (not
coil as I said earlier) and the board. I assume they replaced them because
of tests they ran in the shop. I further assume that the symptoms I'm
seeing now are what I saw before and didn't notice the blinking code. But
back then it woudn't come on after a restart.
BTW, I opted to buy an extended warranty (five years) for $229. The bill
for the repair would have been $641.88.
