So with my new setup I decided to go crossfire, and bought the sapphire radeon 3870 intending to buy a second, but instead got the asus card later on instead.

The sapphire card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102719

The asus card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814121233

but when I've tried to run games in crossfire I get these scan lines that I couldn't seem to remedy. I updated the display drivers and all but it didn't help. Removing either one of the cards and just using one seemed to solve the problem.

I know the asus card is supposed to clock about 100Mhz faster than the sapphire, but I was just under the impression that I should be able to plug them both in regardless...

Will I ever be able to run these two in crossfire? or is it pretty much infeasible given that they're made by separate manufacturers?

plz help

if you just bought them then maybe you can exchange it so you have two of the same kind. but first of all i would try to decrease the asus speed from 851 mhz to the default of sapphire one 776 mhz. try to have them both at the same speed.

They should work, the speed difference might be causing some problems though. godless made a good suggestion, about all I know that you can do as well.
