ATI 790x vs Nvidia 590 sli

Hello, I currently have a ati 790x but really want sli and I would like to know if moving to a nvidia 590sli make my setup slower. I am using a x2 5000+ BE and a 9600gt.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

won't make it slower but it is a downgrade by 2 generations.
