I am a fairly hard-core gamer and desperately need to revamp my system with a new mb, processor, and video card.

My case, power supply, and cooling will not be an issue. I am going with either the Quad 6600, 6700, 9300, or 9450 which I plan to overclock.

I am trying to decide between a P35 or P45 mb. I've been hearing the P45 isn't worth it, and since I'm not concerned w/ SLI, I'm guessing the P35 is a better option and a bit more stable for overclocking.

In addition, the video card I'm thinking of is either a single GX2 or 4870...or maybe dual 8800's. I can't seem to find performance ratings comparing something like that.

What do you guys think, what would be my best option for mb & video card w/ the quad core?

Thank you kindly for the help.

So there is no need for going SLI/CF,go for a P35 board like
ASUS P5K-E WIFI,GIGABYTE P35 DS3R/DS3L or ABIT IP35 PRO.

And for Video card go for ATI HD 4850(or NVIDIA 9800GTX if u found it with a lower price)because the difference between these 2 cards isn't much.
