Memtest86+ freezing during the test!

So in regards to my recent random Vista freezes I've tried to use memtest86 and memtest86+ to see if it is my RAM causing the problem. I'm using a dual channel kit of 2GB x 2 corsair DDR3 1333. My motherboard is an EVGA 790i. During the actual test, it will freeze - sometimes at the start of the test, sometimes in the middle of test 2,3, 6, etc - completely random it seems. I've tried this with both sticks in, and tried it again several times on each stick of RAM separately. Now I turn to you guys... what do I do? Should I run up to the store and buy a new motherboard? Is it an unstable processor? (The heat rarely goes above 40C, but I guess there could be some flaw in it still...?). I'm really at a loss when memtest is freezing on me.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm losing my mind debugging this build.

Thanks!

Full system specs will help.

Did you make sure that you manually set the voltage listed from the memory maker.

You should also make sure that the ram is not getting overclocked. Sometimes a board uses the default speeds and then when you overlockit pushes it out of spec.

It never hurts to reseat(remove and reinsert the sticks) the memory.
