Alright guys, first post here. I am considering building my first computer soon, think I would get more for the money and it would be a good experience. So heres what I have so far:

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021

MOBO: EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i FTW SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188026

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

Power: OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341002

Memory: 2x Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory Model

Graphics: 2x XFX PVT88PYDF4 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150252

HDD: SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

All this plus an operating system, heatsink, and DVD drive runs about $1300. Im looking for a solid machine that will last me for a good 3 years and can play not just the current generation of games but the next generation as well. 1300 is around my maximum budget.
Did I miss anything? Will all this work together once I put it all in the case? Any help, criticism, or tips for putting this thing together would be a help.

Step 1- get rid of the SLI setup. Unless you are running at resolutions higher than 1920x1200 SLI is a waste of money.
Step 2- Get rid of 750i chipset motherboard. nVidia's Intel chipsets have be plagued with problems. I would not take a chance on one at this time.

Now then!
Processor- Good choice, it will OC well and it really fast. Plus 45nm part.
Motherboard- Look at the x38 chipset from Intel. Overclocks like a champ, and is a solid chipset that does not have issues. Look the Asus or Gigabyte boards. Example is an Asus P5E.

Memory- DDR2-800, There is no reason to buy DDR2-667 RAM anymore. Look at G.Skill, muskin, or Corsair, they overclock well and generally work better in my experience.

Graphics Card- Drop to 1 for reasons listed above. Best idea is to wait for the 9900 series though.

Power- Good choice.

Case- Just fine.

OS- Must be a 64-bit OS. Make sure you do not buy a 32-bit one!

I agree with shadowduck.

If you do have a monitor with 1920x1200, i.e. 24" or more, or a TV with 1080p (1920x1080), or intend to buy one, then SLI makes sense. In that case, your choices are fine, in general. I'd just replace the RAM with DDR2-800, the HDD with a WD6400AAKS, the video cards with 8800GTS G92 512MB.

Add a HDT-S1283 cooler and a SH-S203B burner and Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

If you're not in a rush, wait for AMD's HD 4870 cards and get one of those (or two, if you have a big monitor) and an X38 motherboard. P5E and GA-EX38-DS4 and aBit IX38 QuadGT are good, for example.
