hello, I am building a new PC (for gaming) and i been looking around in tiger direct and newegg and I can not find a hard drive that supports this motherboard (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4488089&Sku=B69-2100) it comes with a Core i7 and some RAM too :D . Well on the specs on the page it says:

Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s Headers: 6

I am not sure because i can not find a hard drive with a ATA 3.0Gb/s i only find SATA-3G or SATA-300 or ATA-300. Could someone please tell me what is going on! I found nice a hard drive (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4853015&Sku=TSD-1000EAVS) but it is SATA 3.0Gb/s. Will the Sata 3.0Gb go with that motherboard? Thanks

steven

Welcome to the forums!

SATA-3G, SATA-300 and ATA-300 are all different ways of telling you it is a SATA (or Serial-ATA) drive.
All SATA drives are backwards and forwards compatible with each other.
This means that any SATA drive will work with your system.
The hard drive you have located will work just fine for you.

SATA-3G/SATA-300 = Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s
