Thinking of purchasing following combination:

- Asus P5Q Pro
- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
- CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4096MB 1066Mhz cl5

Should i change anything to optimize the performace or to achieve 1:1 ratio?
I'm not planing to OC, so should i buy extra cooler for cpu or is the one that comes with box version sufficient?
Shall i go with 'slower' ram (IE 800Mhz cl4)?

Thanx for answers!

so basically if i OC the processor on 3,5, the ram will run at 800mhz, but if i dont do it, it will run only at 666mhz? :/

If i decide to overclock it to 3,5, do you recommend another cooler or am i absolutely safe with the included one? What about the mobo? Is it good for OCing?

Ultimately, if i understood correctly, i have to oc the proc, to run 800mhz ram at its default. So whats the point of 1066 memory chips? Is it even possible to rich that speed?

You can use ANY cooler, but your o/c will be bottlenecked by heat. If you use LN2, you can hit 6Ghz. No joke. If you use air cooler, you should be able to get 4ghz. Stock cooler ~3.6ghz. These overclockers are 24/7 stable. Not a 1 min fly-by.

I recommend Xigmatek HDT-S1283.

A crash-course of o/cing:

CPU FSB / 2 = DDR2 MHZ

1333mhz / 2 = 666.5mhz

To do 800Mhz,

800 * 2 = 1600 / 4 = 400 * 9 = 3600 or 3.6Ghz CPU

Your settings would be 800mhz for DDR2, 400mhz for FSB and cpu multiplier x9. The stock cpu speed:

1333 / 4 * 9 = 2999.25 or rounded to 3Ghz
