hey guys. i have a gtx 285 and noise is a problem. when i overclock, i have to put the cooler to 80% or sometimes 100%, which is very loud for me. i was wondering if i could mount a intel stock cooler or something of the likes to cool it down, while being quiet. of course i have ram heatsinks and i don't want to spend the money on a gpu cooler when i have a spare cooler laying around. would it even have a temp decrease at all?

I'm gonna go ahead and guess no... Maybe, just maybe if you heavily modified the 285 that may work but I doubt it. The price of the gpu cooler would be well worth the time and effort needed to modify the card. Plus you don;t have to worry about damaging it.

That being said I've seen people do crazier things with nice results...
