Ok, this is my first time building a computer from the ground up. Its for a teacher at my school.

We searched at TigerDirect and got a barebones kit with and Asus M2N-SLI mobo on it.. (i couldnt find the actual barebones kit)

it has 4GB (1GBx4) Crucial Balistix RAM.

an AMD 64 X2 6000+ 3.0 GHz CPU

250 GB WD Caviar HDD,
and so on.

I ran into a few problems like no mobo. so i called TD and ordered a XFX 8400 GS for him. then i installed his XP cd.

now heres the problem.

He didnt have SP1 on it. or so it said. so i installed SP2 after the installation. so his HDD is partitioned to only 131 GB but thats not a big problem i can just set it up as a dual hard drive.. and have another partition with the remaining space.

but i cant get the Ethernet to work i downloaded the drivers from Nvidia site.. Nvidia nForce 560 SLI installed them but it still wont connect. it has an orange light when the cable is plugged in. the only network connection it says it has is firewire.
also whenever I plug in a USB drive it gives me a warning about it not being a HI-SPEED USB port.

I need help bad. cause im really frustrated and since my computer engineering teacher kinda told the other teacher id do a great job. im a bit emarrased that i still cant get the job done... HELP!! :D

also.. he has a Linksys router (cant remember the model number) hooked up to charter modem. the router is lokced so yeah..

Thanks in advance!!
