Get an AMD 780g board, then add on you 3470.
I'd say the MSI, as it has the best power managment, its the only one that can handle a 9850 that I know of.

a low power 9100e quad or a 9550 or the like if you cant find it.

and a mini P180 case (pretty much the same, but for microATX)

I assume by you case choise, you want quiet, so go with a an enermax pro 82+
this one should be powerfull enough

What I was thinking was that since I'm running 3 or more fairly intensive apps at the same time, I'd really benefit from the quad.

That's going to be a slick Day Trading Computer!
I have very similar sepcs in my multiple monitor computer.
However, If I was you, I would get two ATI 2600XT cards. They are
128-Bit instead of 64 and you could probably get 512MB for the same price.
Plus the PK5 isn't compatable with PCI Express 2.0, I don't think.

Check out this Quad LCD computer Video:

Multiple Monitor Computer Video

Is that what you are trying to do? ha!

You should get a Multi-Monitor Display to go with it.
I have one and I love it for stock trading!
