E8400 revision

Hello guys this may sound stupid but I got 2 OEM E8400 from a friend and I want to know how can I find if is the revision g0 or stepping g0?

I don't think E8400 has a g0 stepping, I think that was just for the 65nm chips. I think the E8400 is either C0 or C1, mine is a C0.

With the introduction of the E8600 the E8x-series (22 July?) will be updated to stepping E0 (?) I believe. I'm curious as to the difference that will make as I'm possibly in the market for a E8x processor in a few weeks. I've read about something like that at least, might remember a detail or two incorrectly.

Ok on the intel site there is a C0 verison and a G0 version of the 8400.
what is the diference between these 2? what is the best?

I only see C0 and E0. G0 would more be a 6xxx's series chip.

I can only guess the E0 is better since the thermal spec is 74C, while the C0 is 72C max temp.
