I try to open my 8gb micro sandisk card using the adapter on my computer. When I click to open it - it just takes forever and then I get the I/O error. The memory card is for my phone and I was trying to transfer some usic and pics on to it from an older memory card. I have no problem with smaller cards - like a 512mb, a 1gb or a 2gb. It just seems the 8gb is giving me problems. I just want to open it up in my computer. Is my computer not able to handle it possibly?

Can you still read the card on your phone? If so, then there's probably something wrong with the adapter you're using. How 'bout trying to read the card with the adapter on another computer, or using another adapter? There could also be problems with the PC's card reader itself.
