Yeah, Aoc is cpu intensive, and i havent heard of anyone with quads having major issues with it, although ive seen a few posts with folks who had the e8400 still getting some issues. I dont play though, so i cant say for sure if this is really the case, or people are just spreading rumors.

just a FYI, ive got a e8400 at 4gighz with a OC 8800GTS 512,4 gb ram XP.

max settings and 2x AA is possible with very few hiccups. the game is a beast when it comes to hardware. i can see lag in the future easily past the low levels and into pvp and groups.

ur powersupply is fine. its got 57 amps total on 3 rails. 8800gts use a max of 26a each i believe. more commonly it will draw 22amps to 24amps.

Do some research in the forums for aoc, and see what is workin for folks, like i said, its not a definete thing, but best to check around.

I have read quite a bit on AoC forums, and I am building a new system mainly for AoC, but frankly the last system I build for a new MMO (i.e AO), ended up being used mostly for DAoC.

Back to your setup. I'd get the new 8800GTS (G92 / 512MB), And go with Quad (2.66 or 2.5) to be future proof.

well I don't support your mobo... the big reason if you don't go sli now you don't need it... planing on SLI later won't help you much cause there will be alot better cards than just to go 2X8800GT, I think you don't need it.
nVidia chipsets aren't so stable as X38, X48 I will recomend to take them or just wait for new p45 mobo
