Everything looks good imo. but jsut a few things. Why XP? I would just go with vista home premium. Xp is a very good OS but it is getting a little long in the tooth, but if you do decide to go with vista i would recommend 4 gigs instead of 2. May want to check the compatability of that ram with your motherboard, i believe there is a list on gigabytes website. other than that everything looks good. Just be careful when you build, when you start to apply the arctic silver be sure to use only enough that stuff is very good as a thermal compound but it will conduct electricity, dont get it ony capacitors and what not.

thanks for the reply. i was actually thinking the same thing with XP to Vista. but, my reasoning is that i hear vista isn't really good with older games. again though, thanks for the reply!

You heard correct about "some" games. It is also not very friendly with older hardware. But also remember, XP is fairly old M$ will quit providing support for it pretty soon.

bump.

just another question. when you mentioned ram, Bushmasterd, did you mean video card ram or the patriot ram? just a little confused cause the video card has "Gigabyte" in it.

alrighty, went to newegg and swapped my XP OS to a Vista 64-bit premium OS. also, i added another 2 gigs of ram (a total of 4 gigs, 4 sticks). just wondering now that i did that, are there any other changes to accommadate the new OS? again, comments will be greatly appreciated.
