I am planning to get a 4870x2 when it comes out but for now I think I will stick with the 4870. I plan on overclocking and will use an e8400. The thing is I don't know which motherboard to get and what RAM to get. I heard getting ddr 800 pc2 6400 is good enough and anything more is a waste. This ram looked pretty good...any comments? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820227267 And I don't really understand the differences between all the motherboards.

Like with the x38 or an x48....whats the difference between those 2 mobos? I know both are highly suggestive if your going crossfire because you need it to fully use the speed of crossfire but what other capabilities does it have over the non x boards? What does the x48 have over the x38?

And I want the best bang for my buck on both of these.

I'm not sure if it matters but I will be using a 24", 5 hardrives, and a pci-e raid controller card. Will a corsair 750W be enough?

I'm pretty sure if u can buy an x48 based mobo you should go for it, although DDR3 doesnt offer much more performance over high speed DDR2 (800 and 1200MHz) ram, its still the logical step forward. If ure building a system for long term usage then X48 would naturally serve u better. Your power supply is more than sufficient, i believe.
