Hi all. I'm a newbie as you can tell from my post count, but I have been browsing these forums for a while trying to get some good input for the gaming rig I'm building with my computer savvy friend. So far the only product we have actually bought is the XFX GeforceGX2 since it was on sale for 320 and a Coolermaster Real Power 750W PSU. I know its the lower end of the GX2s at only 600mhz, but I saw some reviews that seemed to say it overclocked nicely (and easily which is good cuz I don't know much about OCing) so I'm hoping it will be money well spent.

Anyways, I am posting in the mobo section because I was hoping to get some advice on which mobo would help to optimize the gaming experience with this card. I'm looking to spend b/w 200 and 250 on the board, but I don't really know what makes a board good, so I'm hoping someone can give me some protips. Anyways here are some of the "intended" specs for the comp. Feel free to comment on these as well.

Memory:
Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF Matched Pairs 4GB Kit (2x2GB)
PC8500 DDR2-1066 CL 5-5-5-15 240-pin Dual Channel DHX Memory w/ Fan

CPU
Intel Core Q9300 OR Q9450

Hard Drive:
Western Digital Caviar (WD5001ABYS) Raid Edition 500GB SATA 3Gb/s NCQ 7200RPM 16MB Buffer (OEM)

Motherboad:
??? (thinking maybe a P5Q but I really don't know)

Monitor:
Samsung 931C 19" OR Samsung Syncmaster 226BW 22" WS (I heard both of these are good for gaming)

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Well Ive been through a lot of mobos and they were always for gaming. My top three manufactures would be 1. ASUS 2.GIGABYTE 3. MSI Normally Asus has always had a tad more performance then the rest but its pretty small. The rest of the brands have always lasted long and had good warranties. I would sudgest for you to go to newegg and check out all the reviews for mobos in your price range. thought $250 gives you a lot of choices. Also i would stick to Nvidia chipsets since you already have a GX2. As far as SLI Ive never touched it since you will just get a better bang for you buck if get a latter generation card.
