Most likely has something to do with your Antivirus, the AV the email clients use, or combination of the two.

Senario: (Trend Micro). Go into Virus Controls; then Protection Against Viruses; click on Settings and uncheck the box that said "Threats in Web mail attachments". Look for something similar in your AV settings.
