Cannot access my maxtor 500gb external hard drive

Hello,
since this morning i have not been able to access my external hard driv, i have unpluged all connections and reconnected, run sytem restore to an earlier date, but all i get is access denied

Does disk management show valid drive letter, file structure ?
Error code in device manager ?

You need to run as administrator, not as Guest.

Hey .... I had the same so I Downloaded a free version of Piriform Defraggler and ran a test on that drive , dont be disheartened if on the different options it says it doesnt recognise the drive keep trying all options until it says to open system 32 it then runs CHKDSK First it delets the files then re run the program and it finds all the files , be patient hope it works for you be persistent
