So I've built my second computer and I've come across a problem. It put it all together, started it up, im able to get into bios. I just need to install my os (xp pro). So i set my cd-rom drive to boot first and it just keeps coming up with "please insert bootable drive ect". I know the cd works, ive used it before, and when i stick it into one of my other computers it loads. I also tried a copy of vista, but the same thing happens. It seems like its not recognizing anything in the drive.

When you go into bios and change the boot priority, should it say "LG CD-ROM Drive" or something? Cause mine just says ATAPI CD-ROM.

My system:

Coolermaster cm 690 Mid Tower Black ATX Case
8 GB Mushkin HP PC2-6400
Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black 1TB SATA2 7200RPM
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Quad Core Processor LGA775 2.83GHZ
EVGA GeForce GTX 275 633MHZ 896MB 2.26GHZ
Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply
LG GH22NP20 Black DVD+RW 22X8X16 DVD-RW 22X6X16 DL 16X/12X 2MB IDE OEM

Thanks in advance!

Yes, "ATAPI CD-ROM" is correct because it's the generic name for your device. To be sure, have you tried running another bootable disk on your drive?
