Well, the gtx280 is 40% faster than a single g92 card. Gx2 use 2, so in theory, it should be somewhat faster than gtx280.

Still, wait after release date. If nothing else, the new card will push down price for everything else.

SLI Them? You are going to buy two X2s? Quad GPU is a bad idea....after 3 GPUs your return is just about non existent. Hold out just a little longer if you can afford the 280 or two of them. BTW, what res are you gaming at?

Hahaha, dagger, we are always on the same page

The gtx280's 1gb ram would give it an advantage over gx2 with 512mb assigned to each core. Still best to wait and see the initial price. If they kept it at the $700 mark, it's not worth it. Might as well sli two 1gb versions of 8800gts for much less.

yea i hope to god there not over 600$ lol or even 700$

we will have to wait and see what the prices are like. I hope reviews pop up sooner.

I mean once you hit Tri-SLI you can't do much better than that unless you are at the upper resolutions. So you don't get what you pay for in the end...the 4th GPU is just kind of a waste.

Dude, WTF....didn't THG just do an article on this? I can't find it anymore. Now I think I am going crazy. Dagger, help me out here...

what 9800 would be a normal SLI one and why aint the one i picked just normal SLI ?

GTX280 has a single GPU per card so 2 cards= SLI. GX2 has two GPUs built into each card so two in SLI would = 4 GPUs total = quad SLI. Just count the GPUs..... Tri SLI would mean you need three cards with 1 GPU each.

I would not get Quad GPU, what perceived improvement VR. heat, cost and added noise is just not worth it IMHO. Either SLI or get the GTX280. In my expirience a single card with a faster GPU and more VRAM always trumps SLI with more accumalitve resources unless you are gaming at much higher resolutions.

You are gaming at the same resolution I am, and I have decided on either the GTX280 once it hits or 2X 3870 (I have a crossfire board) for what its worth.
