...eh, screw the joke, let's get down to brass tacks.
My 6-year old computer is wearing thin on me. She runs well enough (as a system with less than a gig of memory can these days) for everything I do except the one mmorpg I cannot help myself but play. The GPU (nearly as old) is on its last legs and simply upgrading to a new one is nearly out of the question for me (it's AGP, and I'd rather not bother at this point).
So I'm thinking, hey, why not go for a small budget setup for now and a couple of years down the road you can blow it up and get a nice, shiny system with lasers on its bells and whistles.
So, what kind of mobo and cpu, and I suppose amount of memory, should I look at for this? I'm not going to crossfire it or SLI it. Not gonna try to play Crysis with it. Not gonna try and computate quantum physics theories or other such matters.
Thoughts? (and thanks ahead of time for any input)
