8800 is better by alot. 9600 is basically a detuned version of the 8800. not totally true but gets the point across.

Shouldn't be a problem to run either card, but make sure your PSU can handle them.

At stock speeds the 9600GT draws 60w of power or 5 amps. The 8800GT draws 99w of power or 8.25 amps.

Overclocked versions draws more power and amps.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

I've seen a 9600 GT match a 8800 GT when overclocked, the thing is that the 8800 GT can overclock 2 :D

I'd say 8800 GT to play it safe, and apparently Crysis loves the GT :)

They do seem a bit on the low side and at 60w why would a 9600GT need an auxiliary power feed when the PCI-e slot supplies 75w? [:mousemonkey:2] just a thought.
