Hey folks... I'm having some trouble with a Vista based laptop. It's an Acer Aspire 6390.

I clicked on the erecovery by disc repair, I had my own burned back up discs to use (since this laptop didn't come with recover CDs) but for some reason they aren't working now.

Now the problem is my laptop won't bootup because I think it's looking for the recovery discs.

At startup I get a blue screen saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage"

the errors are:

STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001904AA,0x89D98F58,0X89D98C54,0X8AE1F51)

I can't even boot into safe mode, the same screen just comes up.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT a virus because I scanned it was malware bites the other day...and it just happened when I tried the recovery disc repair thing :(

So I don't have any other windows disc, is there anything I can do? I don't want to erase the whole HDD I wanted to just restore some windows files with the recovery discs. So if possible I don't want to lose all my data, files, pictures, etc... I have an external HDD and a USB stick, if there's a way to fix this with those, like any programs that can restore it?
