Hey,

i was wondering if i could use the spare power connector of fi a cdrom drive, to use for a fan? the three fan power connectors on my asus psch-lr next to the cpu are broken. i already send one motherboard back (with another problem) and i got this in return. but since im running out of time im wondering if i can convert the power of a normal connector to the power of a fan connector...

tnx in advance!

Assuming you're talking about an IDE CDROM, you're talking about a molex power connector. Some case fans do use those connectors.

If I understand right:
Yes, you can convert three pin power connector to a molex.

Turn off the CPU fan monitoring in the bios.
