I'm putting together a new low power, low noise, & low cost build for Internet and light productivity, and wondering what y'all think about this setup. I'm planning on installing ubuntu with open office & firefox, but if anyone has any Linux recomendations, that would be great too.
I'm re-using an old mid tower ATX Antec case(i may go to a mini tower at some point), CDRW, 120GB SATA HD, 19" viewsonic LCD 1280 x 1024 native, keyboard mouse etc. and the rest i'm buying new.
MBD GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+ motherboard, Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200-based graphics (DX10) 1xHDMI, 1xDVI, 1xESATA $89 + $7 S&H

CPU AMD Athlon X2 4850e, 45watt, 2.5ghz, dual core, Retail box $87 Free S&H

RAM 2GB DDR2 CAS 5 Super Talent $40 Free S&H

PSU Seasonic ECO 300, 300watt, SFX12V $55 Free S&H

Total build W/tax ~ $300
I could have shaved another $50 off the price, but the tradeoffs on quality weren't worth it to me. I could also have gotten better RAM for less using MIR, but i wanted the upfront cost kept down.
but please let me know if there is anything you think i missed. This is not a game machine, other than online spades or poker.
