new low power build

I'm putting together a new low power, low noise, & low cost build for Internet and light productivity, and wondering what y'all think about this setup. I'm planning on installing ubuntu with open office & firefox, but if anyone has any Linux recomendations, that would be great too.

I'm re-using an old mid tower ATX Antec case(i may go to a mini tower at some point), CDRW, 120GB SATA HD, 19" viewsonic LCD 1280 x 1024 native, keyboard mouse etc. and the rest i'm buying new.

I could have shaved another $50 off the price, but the tradeoffs on quality weren't worth it to me. I could also have gotten better RAM for less using MIR, but i wanted the upfront cost kept down.

but please let me know if there is anything you think i missed. This is not a game machine, other than online spades or poker.

The stock HSF is hardly quiet. Have you researched low noise HSF's and come up with anything better than stock? I'm too am looking for a quiet HSF for a micro build I'm currently working on and am open for suggestions.

i haven't researched it yet, i figure i'll wait to hear the stock cooler first. i figure with a 45watt cpu that isn't overclocked, it won't take very much to cool it. if it turns out to be noisier than i thought, then i'll go to the spcr forums and see what the HTPC crowd is doing for low profile.

This build IMO is much better:

Intel E2160... $70
Gigabyte P35-DS3L...$80
Crucial Ballstx 2GB... $30
Antec EA380 PSU...$50

Total: $230. More power for a lesser price. The stock cooler of the E2160 is quite quiet too.

after all, everything is better with a C2D on it...

I run an old opty 165 cooler on my 65 watt brisbane, then turn the fan way down. it was the best I could do in my old small case. I'm thinking of an AC64 now that I have a new case.

i know c2d has more power, but AMD has plenty of power for my use. i have a q6600 with 8800gt sli for games & fun stuff, but this rig is for my gf who wants something eco friendly and relatively quiet. she thinks my rig sucks enough juice to power a small village. 8]
also, the GA-MA78GM-S2H has integrated graphics, so i won't have to buy a new graphics card to go with it.
I'm assuming the ballistix are $30 w/MIR - which should read mmuf (more money up front) - heh i said mmuf!
The Antec is worth considering though, thanks for the feedback.
