Hi,

I am going to be upgrading to a Phenom II 720BE (AM3 Socket) and an Asus M4A78-E motherboard (socket AM2+/AM3).

Now, I'm not sure on the compatibility of heatsinks with said sockets.

Will any AM2 compatible heatsink work?
Or does it have to be AM2+?

Also, what heatsink would you guys recommend? I plan on overclocking, I'm hoping to be able to reach ~3.6-3.8GHz, but that depends on if I get a crappy chip or not.

Thanks in advance.

Considering My Large All-Copper Zalman Has Been Installed On A Standard AM2 (Non +), A Socket 754 (My Old Sempron), A Socket 939 And My Current AM2+ And The Fact That The AM3 Chips Will Work In A Socket AM2 Im Sure You Will Be Fine With A AM2/ AM2+ Cooler, Id reccomend One of The Zalman Series Coolers

+1. Would it kill you to NOT use upper case for every single word? It makes it hard to read.

LOL, poor schooling or not done yet, long wayyy to go I guess. Unless he works writing radio FM car adverts, then he's doing what he always has done. And spelling isn't a big deal in radio.

Too funny.
