I've been waiting to build a new PC for a bit now, waiting on these new cards. After reading the unimpressive results of the GT260/GT280 I started thinking maybe going with a couple of the older cards in SLI might not be too bad.
Now I was at ZZF and they have what seems to be a pretty solid deal to me. XFX 9800GTX for 239$ + a 20$ MIR bringing the price down to 219$. Cheapest I have seen for a 9800GTX.
So, with speculation that the 4850 performs a bit under a 9800GTX and retailing for ~200$, this deal seems tempting to me.
At this point in time the 9800GTX does certainly look like a good deal as long as you do not get "buyer's remorse" after the 4xxx comes out.
If it is going to be a vast improvement over what you currently have then go ahead and buy it. If the performance increase is marginal, then just wait until the 4xxx series is out to determine which card is best for you.

Well, I would be upgrading my whole system from an AMD 4400+ X2, 2GB Ram, X1900XTX 512 to an E8400, 4Gb, 2x 9800GTX SLI. At least that's what I was thinking.
