I'm currently doing my first build but I'm unsure what memory to use. I would also prefer a 2 X 2gb package if possible. The mother board I have picked out is the GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 and I'm going to be gaming mostly on this. I'm using a hd 4850 on it and will probably add another later on. Memory or different mobo suggestions are welcomed.

i just put together a system with the same motherboard and GPU. I highly recommend both the mobo and GPU.

for ram i used a 2x2gb kit of OCZ reaper

because it was a good deal with the rebate. works great in my system.

really if you get any kit from a reputable manufacturer you will be fine

I'm just building this board and im having a problem and hope you can help. Im a neebie so give details. I can't get the lan drivers to work. I also think the crucial 1 gig 804 ram im using is causing problems. I have 2 gigs in but can't run the voltage at 2.2 like it says. have to keep it at 1.85 or constant reboots. Im using a hd4870 but just finished the build and would like to get on the net for drivers. I tryed to burn the latest drivers from gigabyte but they won't work either. Vista shows the drivers as a problem and after i load the gigabyte drivers the welcome center and control panel leave the building.. I have read where people had to change the realtek drivers for this board but cant find them.. I built this with q9450 and 2 300 v raptors in raid 0. Can anyone help with the correct lan ethernet driver i should load and please give details..Thanks for helping a old neebie
