Intel Extreme DP45SG + E5200 OC

Hey, i just got started off overclocking CPU's today and i was wondering what would be a good amount of overclock a dual core such as this one.

People have said it would go up to 4.0Ghz.

It's currently at 2.5Ghz and i want to bring it to 3.6-3.8Ghz with a stock cooler + Artic Silver 5

It was 12.5 Multi's

Many have told me to make it a FSB of 288 for 3.6Ghz and keep it at 1.35v.

Im not so sure.

Have you read the How To sticky?

With the stock cooler I would keep it under 3.5.

I am still confused of how to overclock it.

I changedt he FSB to 240 but when i boot in windows it still stays at 200 and everything is normal.

you sure u save and exit the bios ?

Never mind, i got through this bios problem, it makes you go back in 2 times and save the same settings over or it won't show in Windows.

Also, CPU has to be changed before the memory.

So i was able to get this to 3250.0mhz at 1.242v.

Bus speed: 260mhz
Multiplier: x 12.5
Rated FSB: 1040 mhz

How much volts do you guys it would take to get to 3.5? I want to keep it at 3.5 until i find a better CPU cooler.

Currently the 2 cores are at 37-45C Idle.

Idle temps don't mean much.
